Sunstate

Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 25, 2026

Sunstate is an unofficial countdown and companion app for an upcoming open-world video game. This policy explains exactly what data Sunstate handles, where it lives, and who can see it. The short version: Sunstate has no accounts, no ads, no third-party trackers, and no analytics — your data stays on your device.

The summary

What stays on your device

Your countdown preferences, theme choices, widget settings, and (once the in-app tracker activates at the game's launch) your progress data — such as which missions, collectibles, and challenges you mark as found — are stored locally on your device using Apple's on-device database (SwiftData). This information stays on your device in v1.

The content feed

Sunstate periodically fetches a small, hand-curated content file (a list of confirmed facts and news cards written in our own words) from our server. This is a one-way, read-only request: we send you content. The request contains no account identifiers and no personal information. Like any internet request, our server may briefly process standard technical metadata (such as your IP address and device type) solely to deliver the file and protect the service from abuse; we do not use this metadata to build a profile of you, and we do not link it to any identity.

Purchases

Sunstate offers a single one-time purchase, "Sunstate Pro." All purchases are processed directly by Apple through the App Store using StoreKit. We never see or store your credit card number, billing address, or Apple ID. Apple confirms your purchase status to the app so it can unlock the features you bought. Payment handling is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.

No tracking, no ads

Sunstate contains no advertising, no advertising SDKs, and no third-party analytics or tracking frameworks. We do not use cookies, device-advertising identifiers (IDFA), or fingerprinting. The app does not ask for the App Tracking Transparency permission because there is nothing to track.

Children's privacy

Sunstate is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because the app collects no personal information from anyone, no special data is gathered from younger users either.

Your choices and rights

Because your data lives on your device, you are in control. To delete your data, you can delete the app, which removes its local data. If you have questions about your privacy, contact us at the email below and we will help.

Changes to this policy

If we ever change how the app handles data, we'll update this page and revise the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will be reflected here before they take effect.
